That depends what you mean by Best. Khao Lak enjoys a tropical climate, the dry season runs from November to April and is the most popular time for visitors. Sunny skies, calm seas and cooler temperatures make this the ideal time for beach days, snorkeling and diving, island adventures and jungle treks.
Rainy season starts in May and ends in October, bringing with it occasional heavy showers and rough seas. Although some beach and Island tours are off the itinerary, many people prefer to visit at this time as flights are a fraction of the cost, hotels slash their prices, the restaurants, bars and markets are all open except you have the place more or less to yourself without the crowds.
Many nationalities can enjoy Visa-free travel to the Kingdom for up to 30 days, including the UK and many European nations however, it is strongly advised that you check before travel to see if your country is exempt.
The Thailand Digital Arrivals Card (TDAC) is a mandatory electronic entry requirement for all foreign nationals entering Thailand, regardless of their visa status. Effective from May 1 2025, visitors must complete the TDAC online 3 days prior to entry in to the Kingdom, be that by Land, Sea or by Air
This area of Thailand has an abundance of wildlife, but sightings are not always guaranteed. Some animals like Monkeys, Tokay Geckos, Water Monitors, Egrets, Kingfishers, Frogs and Butterflies are an almost every day sight.
Other species like Gibbons, Wild Elephants, Hornbills, otters Civets and Sun Bears are more easily spotted in places like Khao Sok National Parkor even locally at Lam Ru National Park.
Snorkelling and diving are great ways to get up close and personal with a rich variety of marine life. Expect to see colourful Clown fish, Parrot fish, Angel fish, Sea Turtles and many others that call the beautiful coral reefs their home.

Travel insurance is strongly recommended. It covers medical care, flight delays, and lost/stolen belongings. Tokay Tours, and our partner KLFT are fully insured, but this is only for the duration of any trips and tours booked through us, and not for the entirety of your trip to Thailand. We strongly recommend you take out private insurance before your trip, in case of emergency some hospitals may ask for proof of insurance before they begin treatment.
